Though Arcane lacks explicit mentions of Christ, its thematic architecture is deeply resonant with the biblical concepts of the “fall” and the desperate need for redemption. The character of Jinx serves as a harrowing portrait of the “old man” (Ephesians 4:22)—a soul haunted by past sins and unable to escape the voices of condemnation. Her journey illustrates the theological truth that without an external source of grace, we are often doomed to become the very things we hate. The struggle between her and Vi mirrors the biblical longing for reconciliation; Vi’s persistent love for her sister, despite Jinx’s atrocities, reflects a shadow of the agape love God holds for His rebellious children.
Furthermore, the show brilliantly explores the idol of “progress.” In Piltover, the pursuit of Hextech mirrors the Tower of Babel, where human ingenuity seeks to transcend natural limits without moral restraint.
